ANSWER MAN

Add to my Yahoo XML

Where's the only place on the Web you can find Peter Frampton, Shania Twain, Darryl Sittler, James Joyce and the Answer Mom name-checked in the same column? Right here, that's where! And to make sure I fulfill that promise: Happy birthday, Answer Mom! The other names will reveal themselves in due course...

How would I find last week's column in your fancy-pants new format?

Or was it better left unread?

- Mark

You should definitely read all of them! They're all brilliant! Or at least adequate. Well, they're better than working all afternoon, right?

Apologies to those of you expecting a joke in this spot, but as longtime readers may recall, I sometimes use the No. 9 slot to answer questions about the column itself.

Many of you have been asking about how to read columns you've missed. Right now the best and easiest way to find recent columns is to click on the "More Answer Man" tab at the bottom of this page. This should give you links to the five most recent columns.

Under the "fancy-pants new format," another little trick for reading back farther into the past is to manually change the URL from the current week's column. For instance, as you're reading this question, you'll see that it has the URL:

http://spotlight.rogers.com/fun/answerman/35/9

The "35" means the 35th week of the year, and the "9" means Question 9 of the week. To go back to the first question from last week, you would go to:

http://spotlight.rogers.com/fun/answerman/34/1

I realize this method is less than ideal, but the good folks upstairs are working hard on rebuilding the archives and adding new features to the page, and hopefully you'll see more navigational options in the coming weeks.
