The 10 best actors on TV
2. Matthew Fox (Lost)
Did I say no one could break your heart like John Locke (Terry O’Quinn)? Well, that’s not entirely true. Matthew Fox as Dr. Jack Shephard comes a close second in the heart-busting department. As angry and stubborn a hero as ever graced the small screen, Fox isn’t afraid to make Jack fallible. Fox’s wholesale immersion into Jack’s failings is more spectacular to watch than any smoke monster the special effects team can conjure up.
1. Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter)
Michael C. Hall is a great actor, but Jennifer Carpenter who portrays detective Debra Morgan, Dexter’s foul-mouthed sister, is an inspired performer. After four seasons, Carpenter continues to surprise. Her hysterical crying after the death of Lundy in a recent episode stands out as the most realistic depiction of grief and sorrow ever represented on TV. Another actress wouldn’t have felt the need to go there. Carpenter didn’t hesitate, and that’s why she’s number one.

Is this a joke? Jennifer Carpenter is the worst actress on television.
Do you even watch Dexter? Jennifer Carpenter is great. Matthew Fox is the worst actor on television
what happened to jon hamm, i still think he's the best thing on tv.
Conline, I watch Dexter (almost) religiously and stand by my original statement. Matthew Fox doesn't even come close to the atrocity that is Jennifer Carpenter.
Hugh Laurie, in my opinion, is BY FAR the best actor on television.
David Duchovny as 'Hank Moody' in Californication is by far the best actor on TV!
barack obama is by far the best actor on tv
Steve Carrell and Rainn Wilson are overlooked as usual. Shame on you guys.
I agree with both ezd and anticon. I would also like to add Neil Patrick Harris to the list as well - he is great as Barney Stinson!!
