Tricks and treats from the world of TV!
• Had enough of Kate Gosselin? Well, that’s just too bad because the mother of eight isn’t done with you. TLC, the network behind the reality series, Kate Plus Eight, is airing a one-hour special with KG, entitled Kate: Her Story, on Monday, November 2. The special will see Mrs. G. sit down with NBC’s Natalie Morales.
• I can’t decide whether it’s good news or bad news that The Office creator and star Ricky Gervais is set to host the 67th annual Golden Globes on January 17, 2010. (I still can’t look at Jon Stewart the same way—i.e., at all—after his disastrous hosting of the Academy Awards.) But let’s see the glass half full this time and say it’s good news, shall we? I will call great news if somehow the British funnyman is able to work his podcast sidekick Karl Pilkington into the event. Did you know that The Golden Globes have been going host-less for the past 15 years? Is it odd that I’ve never noticed this before?
• Are you in True Blood withdrawal yet? HBO’s vampire drama has only been on hiatus for a few weeks, but many fans are clamoring for season three news. Wait no more. Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello is answering that burning need with (spoiler-alert) cast news. Tommy Mickens, Sam Merlotte’s younger brother is one addition that I’m excited about.
