So long Ashlee Simpson

The Gossipy Gal Pal isn’t usually the morbid type, but there’s a reason the expression “15 minutes of fame” exists, and that’s because not everybody that makes it in Tinseltown is meant to make it forever.

For some, the spotlight is a life long obligation, but for others fame is a sort of fleeting thing, and for most Hollywood types who have gotten used to the parties, the adoration and the wealth, saying goodbye can be hard. Hell, it can be impossible.

Which is why it’s up to us, the gossip loving public, to let certain celebs know when their star has faded beyond repair. It’s a dirty job, but hey, someone’s got to do it. And it may as well be the GGP. So without further ado, I’m just going to say it…

R.I.P. Ashlee Simpson

Yup, it was good while it lasted. (Okay, fine, it was brutal while it lasted), but based on recent events, my guess is it won’t be long before Jessica and Ashlee Simpson are signing autographs at the local Denny’s in between practice sessions for Dancing with the Stars.  

The straw that broke the Simpson’s back was, of course, Ash’s recent dismissal from Melrose Place. By all accounts, A-Simp viewed the regular acting gig as her ticket to the big time. She was going to be the smoldering centerpiece of a hit show. There is only one problem…the show isn’t a hit, and Ashlee is about as smoldering as a cold cup of tea.
