A whiter shade of peace

Wearing a white poppy in November expresses the belief that there are more productive ways to resolve conflict than killing each other for years on end. White Poppies for Peace has been around since the 1930s but takes on a new resonance with missions in Iraq and Afghanistan still going strong. Some say the white poppy is offensive and disrespectful.
